On this sunny July Sunday in Copenhagen, Field's shopping center is bustling with people.
Families, couples, groups of young people go shopping, go to the cinema, are seated in the restaurants of the second largest shopping mall in Denmark with its 145 shops and entertainment venues.
Then, a little before 5:30 p.m., cries come to break this summer tranquility.
“There is a man shooting like crazy! He shoots, he shoots, get out! yells
, breathless, a woman, her half-open shopping bag in her hand, to the correspondent of
Le Figaro
who is on the spot.
Around her, terrified people start running, parents clutching strollers hasten their pace as best they can, and the cries of babies mingle with those of equally panicked young people.
In this hubbub, several shots echo from the upper floors, as well as shrill cries.
Customers flock to the exit doors, and security guards…
