Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has taken a different direction on the subject of school closures than Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD).
"I think it's very, very unlikely.

However, Lauterbach no longer believes that extensive shutdowns of public life due to corona lockdowns are necessary.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) had already said in an ARD

on Sunday that no drastic measures were necessary for autumn and winter as in previous years.
While people in Germany are looking forward to summer, a corona summer wave is currently developing in Europe.
In the first countries, 3G rules and a mask requirement have already been reintroduced for the 2022 holiday.
Spain also requires a mask, but does not use 3G.

Animal Welfare Association calls for vaccination against African swine fever
Swine fever:
African swine fever has now been detected in Lower Saxony and Brandenburg.
After the recent outbreaks, the German Animal Welfare Association is calling for research into a vaccine against the animal disease.
As Thomas Schröder told the
Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung
, the federal government must provide sufficient funds for vaccine research.
"The euthanasia of thousands of pigs cannot be the final answer to this animal disease."
At the weekend, outbreaks of the disease, which is deadly for pigs, were confirmed in stables in the Emsland district and in Brandenburg.
In the Emsland Emsbüren, a farm with 280 sows and around 1,500 piglets is affected.
