Slowed down by the pandemic, the intelligence services are regaining their cruising speed.
This is what the sixth report of the National Commission for the Control of Intelligence Techniques (CNCTR) reveals.
In 2021, the independent authority responsible for verifying the legality of the activity of spies received 87,588 surveillance requests from so-called "first circle" intelligence services, such as the DGSE or the DGSI, but also from those listed in the “second circle”, where the territorial intelligence (RT) is located.
This is 10% more requests than in 2020.
