A 31-year-old man in Lengdorf suffered severe burns on both lower legs on Saturday evening.
Lengdorf - According to the police, he wanted to refill fuel at his table fireplace in the garage around 9:15 p.m.
In the process, ethanol leaked out and ignited.
The man was flown to the Bogenhausen Clinic by a rescue helicopter.
The Lengdorf fire brigade was also on site.
