On the way to a prisoner exchange? Hamas offers "information deal" Israel today

2022-07-04T06:22:37.824Z

According to a report by the Lebanese "Al-Ahbar", the terrorist organization offered to pass on information about the fate of the soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul.

There was optimism this morning (Monday) among terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip regarding a possible prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas, the Lebanese newspaper affiliated with Hezbollah "Al Ahbar" reported following the inauguration of Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

According to reports from a senior Hamas source, the organization offered Israel to present reliable information about the victims Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, in exchange for the release of prisoners re-arrested since the Shalit deal, the release of terrorists and the release of minors under administrative detention.

In the past, Israel has refused similar offers.

"The occupation government refuses to show a glimmer of hope to the families of the abducted soldiers and is lying to them that their sons were killed. If the occupation government is convinced that they were indeed killed, it must agree to a deal to prove its claims," the source told the Arab newspaper.

The military wing of Hamas last week issued an unusual statement that the health of one of the Israeli prisoners held by the organization in Gaza has deteriorated.

The message did not specify who it was.

Following the announcement, Hamas released documentation of the prisoner, Hisham al-Sayyid, with his ID card bearded and connected to a respirator and tubes, but it is now impossible to know the reliability of the video and when it was filmed.

A video released by Hamas shows on the bedside television screen a broadcast by al-Jazeera from the Economic Forum in Qatar, held from June 21 to 23.

That means the video may have been shot last month.

Earlier, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said in a long speech in Lebanon that Hamas' military wing had four Israeli prisoners in its hands, and that "Israel is not convinced that it will go to a prisoner exchange agreement."

"We are thinking of every direction to bring about the release of Palestinian prisoners," he said.
