Hundreds of people attended the village fair in Geisenbrunn at the weekend, to which the Stopselverein and the fraternity were able to invite people again for the first time after a long break.
Geisenbrunn
- About 600 people flocked to the Painhofer family's festival hall for the so-called "senior meals" on Saturday.
There, to the music of the Alling brass band, they enjoyed roast meat with potato salad, fish on a stick or grilled sausages - and clearly enjoyed the conviviality.
"People were very happy," said Markus Rippl, secretary of the Stopselverein.
In the evening the boys opened the bar. They had set up a huge stage for the band "Bavaria Sound" and people danced into the night.
The next morning, Pastor Franz von Lüninck celebrated the patronal service in the Mariä Himmelfahrt church.
Afterwards, a procession moved again to the Painhofer estate.
District farmer Anita Painhofer had organized a fine Kirta market, and in the afternoon there were, in addition to other delicacies and fine cakes, suckling pig.
Meanwhile, the children had a lot of fun pony riding, on a bouncy castle and on the spray wall.
"The number of visitors was outstanding," enthused Markus Rippl, who was still busy cleaning up on Monday together with other volunteers from the Stopselverein.
"It was just great fun to be able to get something like this going again as a club," he said.
The festival hall was also fully occupied on Sunday until the early evening.
"It wasn't too hot either, because the hall doesn't heat up like a tent." His conclusion about the village fair: "It was just wonderful."
