Palestinian Justice Minister Muhammad Shalalda said last night (Sunday) that the Americans had returned to the Palestinian side the bullet that allegedly killed journalist Sheerin Abu Akala, following an investigation into it.
However, it is not yet known what findings emerge from the test.
The bullet was delivered to the Americans last Saturday after the Palestinians agreed to comply with the US demand in this matter.
"The handing over of the bullet to the American side was based on the fact that Abu Akala carried American citizenship, and we are not against conducting any neutral investigation to reach this crime, that is, the occupation, and come to terms with them. We worked with the Americans, The test.
We are awaiting the publication of the report that will bring the results of the investigation, "Shalalda noted in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Palestinian Attorney General Akram Khatib said in the last day that the bullet test would be conducted at the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
In an interview with Kol Palestine radio, he claimed that the bullet would not be delivered to the Israeli side and that "those who will conduct the test are American experts who came from abroad for this purpose."
From the day of the incident, the Palestinians refused a joint investigation with Israel, and conducted an independent investigation at the end of which it was claimed that the source of the shooting was Israeli.
In Israel, they claimed that it was not possible to determine unequivocally the source of the shooting without a ballistic examination of the bullet.
