Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that his country is ready for all possibilities after Lithuania's move to ban the transit of goods to Russia's Kaliningrad, expressing hope that logic will prevail in that.
"We are waiting for this situation to be resolved and we hope for the best, but we are considering different possibilities in the event that events develop for the worse," the Kremlin spokesman was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency today.
The Lithuanian railways had earlier notified the Russian province of Kaliningrad that it would ban the transit of a number of goods subject to European Union sanctions as of the 18th of last month, while the European Union stopped allowing trucks registered in Russia to enter European countries at the beginning of last April.
