The Erling-Andechs fire brigade wants to expand and is planning an extension on the Steinrinnenweg site.

At the building committee meeting, the members approved the application to change the development plan.

Erling

– After the Frieding volunteer fire brigade got a new house (we reported), expansion plans are now also on the agenda for the neighboring fire brigade.

Sooner or later, the station of the Erling-Andechs fire brigade on Steinrinnenweg will need more space.

That is why the fire brigade, which currently has 50 active members, applied in June to change the development plan for the Erling fire brigade building in the Erling district.

"The fire brigade wants the construction window to be extended," said Andechs' mayor Georg Scheitz at last week's meeting, which was also attended by some members of the fire brigade.

"The reason for this is the limited space available at the fire brigade at the moment," says Scheitz.

The extension of the building on the corner of Steinrinnenweg/Pater Coelistin-Weg should be laid out with maximum distance to the hiking trail, according to the administration.

The area is designated as a communal area required by the fire brigade.

In a possible new building, team and classrooms are to be built, as well as a small kitchen and an office.

In the current fire station, training and catering for longer operations is difficult.

In addition, an office for the two commanders is required in order to be able to guarantee the data protection and security of the fire brigade documents.

"Everything is currently in one room," said Josef Pfänder, commander of the Erling-Andechs fire brigade, when asked by Starnberger Merkur.

"We want to separate that." According to Pfänder, the extension would be 90 square meters.

An extension of the construction window in the direction of Steinrinnenweg should also be examined.

Funding is provided by the municipality of Andechs and the Erling-Andechs fire brigade.

The last time the Erlingen weir was expanded by two vehicle spaces was in 2014, the commander recalls.

The building committee unanimously approved the proposal to change the development plan.

"Now the plans of the fire brigade can continue," said Mayor Scheitz.

The comrades are now waiting for the result of the test by the Starnberg district office.

"The application was the first step," says Pfänder.

"Now the next ones follow."
