The study was conducted among about 900 Hispanic and black students in Atlanta, San Francisco and Miami • 50% of Americans have a positive opinion and 41% are defined as "indifferent"

A study conducted by Wave Israel reveals surprising and encouraging results regarding attitudes toward Israel among various populations in the United States, which, according to popular opinion, hold pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli views.

The study was conducted among about 900 Hispanic and black students in Atlanta, San Francisco and Miami.

According to its results, only 9% of them hold a negative opinion of Israel, compared to 50% who have a positive opinion and 41% who were defined as "indifferent".

After exposure to a positive digital campaign about the State of Israel, the results changed significantly: the percentage of those who had a positive opinion of Israel rose to 76, the percentage of those with a negative opinion dropped to 4 and the percentage of "indifferent" people dropped to 21.

Joanna Landau - CEO of Vibe Israel,

In fact, the results show that positive and focused campaigns can move a significant portion of young people in the United States who do not have a cohesive opinion of Israel to a camp that supports the Jewish state - even when it comes to young people who belong to populations that are seemingly "hostile" to Israel.

"Our research shows that conclusions should not be drawn in advance about public opinion," said Joanna Landau, CEO and founder of Vibe Israel.

"One of the main conclusions is that Israel should be marketed - not explained. This is the most effective tool in changing the minds of young people in relation to us."

Wave Israel organizes a positive change in American public opinion towards Israel, with an emphasis on young populations aged 40 and under.

The organization focuses on social networks and until the outbreak of the corona plague also brought to the country of network influencers in order to change their minds about Israel.

Encouraging results,

"In one of our more original projects, we brought dogs to Israel who are network anchors on Instagram - and of course their owners. The project created millions of positive exposures to Israel and proved that information can and should be done in original ways," says Landau.

According to her, the latest study, which focused on progressive blacks and Hispanics, was conducted mainly through Instagram and Facebook and created about three million positive exposures to the State of Israel in a period of about three weeks, and cost only about $ 3,000.

Landau added that contrary to popular belief, most young people do not associate Israel with war or conflict with the Palestinians: "About 50 percent said religion is the first thing that comes to mind when they think of Israel," she said.

"While there is a positive aspect to the fact that they do not perceive the country primarily in the context of the conflict, religion is an explanatory challenge because in the young populations we focus on it is considered relatively outdated and not liberal. , Tourism and the like. "
