A newcomer joins the government of Elisabeth Borne.
Jean-Christophe Combe, head of the French Red Cross (CRF), becomes Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and People with Disabilities.
He will be supported in his new mission by the Minister Delegate Geneviève Darrieussecq, in charge of People with Disabilities.
A portfolio held until now by ex-LR deputy Damien Abad.
The latter, targeted by accusations of rape, was dismissed from the government and will therefore again become a deputy for Ain.

Jean-Christophe Combe joined the Red Cross in 2011, as director of the cabinet of President Jean-François Mattei.
Between 2012 and 2015, he held the position of director of commitment and associative life within the humanitarian aid organization.
Finally, he was appointed interim Director General of the CRF in 2016 before being permanently assigned to the position of Director General in 2017.
A new figure in the government of Elisabeth Borne, Jean-Christophe Combe already had a foothold in the political world.
A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, he began as a technical adviser to the Senate for the Centrist Union group (finances, foreign affairs, defense and European Union), before being appointed chief of staff to the deputy for Châlons-en-Champagne in 2007, Bruno Bourg-Broc, then the LR mayor of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Emmanuel Lamy, in 2009.
