Puerto Rican artist Ricky Martin affirmed this Sunday that the restrictive order imposed against him by a judge is based on "totally false allegations" of domestic violence, and assured that he will face the accusation "responsibly."

"I appreciate the innumerable shows of solidarity and I receive them with all my heart," he said in a message on the social network Twitter.

The police released the restraining order on Saturday, specifying that they had not been able to deliver it to the artist because they could not locate him in the luxury neighborhood of the city of Dorado where he lives on the island.

Martin assured that there is no accusation against him, and his lawyers insisted that

the allegations are "completely false and fabricated"

.

“We are confident that when the true facts come to light in this matter, our client will be fully vindicated,” they said in a statement sent to The Associated Press news agency.

A police spokesman, Axel Valencia, told the news agency that the person who requested the order did not file a complaint, but went directly to justice.

The order, imposed by Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell, expires on July 21, when the parties are summoned to appear in court in San Juan, according to the newspaper El Vocero.

The name of the complainant is not included in the order, but Eric Martin, a brother of the artist,

revealed on social networks that he is a nephew

, according to the newspaper: "I don't think my older brother is capable of what my nephew wrote and if my nephew wrote it, ”he said on Facebook, asking for prayers for his entire family.

The court order, according to the aforementioned newspaper, says that Ricky Martin and the complainant

"were related for seven months" and "they separated two months ago."

Martín “did not accept the separation”, and “he calls him frequently”;

the complainant "has seen him loitering around his residence on at least three occasions," and "fears for his safety."

The complainant "demonstrated that there is a substantial possibility of immediate risk of abuse," according to the order, of which Noticias Telemundo has not obtained a copy.

Complaint of former manager for three million

The request for protection comes days after Martin's ex-manager filed a lawsuit against him for three million dollars for alleged unpaid commissions.

The plaintiff, Rebecca Drucker, managed the artist's career between 2014 and 2018 and between 2020 and 2022. The complaint was filed last Wednesday in the Los Angeles Central District Court and alleges that Drucker "saved Ricky Martin's career."

"Rebecca is a talent manager who initially represented Martin since 2014. Around May 2020, with his personal and professional life in total turmoil, Martin begged Rebecca to come back and represent him as his manager," the lawsuit alleges. initially published by Deadline digital site.

But, the document adds, "Martin utterly and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in commissions he owes her under his driving agreement."

Representatives for Ricky Martin did not respond to questions from Deadline and other outlets that have reported on the legal case.

On May 23, Ricky Martin announced that he will be starring in the new Apple-TV sitcom

Mrs. American Pie
