Scientists of the Russian Medical University of Tver have created a sponge that can stop the bleeding of blood when injured on the battlefield within minutes and prevent pain shock in no more than half an hour.
Dr. Sergei Zhukov, head of the department of emergency medical care and disaster medicine at the university, explained to TASS that this sponge guarantees stopping the bleeding from external wounds in the first three minutes of its use and within half an hour it prevents the occurrence of painful shock, which prevents loss of consciousness until the use of painkillers injections. 72 hour protection from wound infection.
According to him, this sponge is impregnated with a broad-spectrum, high-dose antibiotic, as well as antihistamines and an anesthetic solution.
