How the old Jodbad site will continue is still unclear.

At the citizens' meeting, however, the head of the town hall asserted that the municipality would not deviate a millimeter from its plan.

Bad Wiessee

– The Swiss company Sports Medicine Excellence Group (SME) has long since turned its back on the municipality of Bad Wiessee as an investor.

Instead of the promised luxury hotel and medical center, the company left a wasteland in the heart of the spa town.

Hardly anything has changed on the 18,000 square meter site of the former iodine-sulphur bath since the construction machines left - only the listed lobby was provisionally secured after a long tug of war.

Now the topic came up again at the Wiesseer citizens' meeting in the post room.

When it comes to SME, the mayor first has to grab a beer

Diana Grelka wanted to know how things were going on on the site.

A simple-sounding question that initially required the mayor to take a deep sip from his glass.

"When it comes to SME, I have to grab a beer," he said.

In fact, the head of the town hall could not report much that was new.

"It's a pathetic wasteland," he admitted.

One thing is certain: The company SME with its managing director Florian Kamelger wants to sell the property - "he wants to earn his money," said Kühn.

According to the mayor, one thing is also certain: the municipality will not deviate "one millimeter" from the existing development plan.

And you will not speak to any investor until he has bought the property.

The development plan does not allow residential development on the site

The development plan specifies that only a health facility and a hotel are possible on the property - another use, such as residential development, is not an issue for the municipal council.

Otherwise the site would probably have been sold long ago.

SME boss Kamelger asserts: There is movement in the matter

Basically, the interest in the former Jodbad site seems to be high, said Kühn.

"We get weekly calls in the town hall." He also recently spoke to Kamelger on the phone, the mayor reported.

He asserted "that there is movement in the matter".

With regard to the future of the site, Kühn emphasized: "We are taking a very clear line here - the area is too important for Bad Wiessee."
