Impeccable brushing, strict tailoring, smiling, the first shots of Catherine Deneuve in the role of Bernadette Chirac are there!
Léa Domenach's next film,
La Tortue,
will feature the actress in the shoes of the former first lady, while actor Michel Vuillermoz will play former President Jacques Chirac, who died in 2019 at the age of 86
.
The film, in filming, is expected for 2023. In the first photos unveiled by
Paris Match
, we can see the actress with multiple Césars posing alongside the president on a balcony, in a reconstruction of the election night, the evening of the May 5, 2002.
According to the weekly, the title of the film takes its name from the nickname chosen by Jacques Chirac to designate his wife.
The president felt that besides his long strides, his wife's step was too slow.
The feature film is directed by Léa Domenach, the daughter of journalist Nicolas Domenach, author of several biographies on the former president.

The angry Chirac family
The family of the late president does not see this biopic very favorably.
Indeed, the daughter of Jacques and Bernadette Chirac, regrets not having been contacted by the project team.
