On Thursday, the government and the indigenous movement in Ecuador reached an agreement after 18 days of mobilizations throughout the country.
President Guillermo Lasso celebrated the agreement: “peace in our country”.
But the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities (Conaie) affirmed that it concluded what it described as the "first stage" of the blockades and demonstrations.
