A shooting incident on American Independence Day took place today (Monday) in Highland Park in the state of Illinois.
At least 25 bullets were fired, and 5 were injured.

Eyewitnesses present at the scene say they heard gunshots during the Highland Park parade and police dispersed the crowds.
According to the photos, the crowds fled the scene, leaving behind a large amount of equipment they had carried with them for the celebrations.
