With the participation of Syria, the activities of the first international festival of friendly and compatible cities with the Iranian capital and the exhibition of cities compatible with Iranian cities were launched in Tehran today.
The Syrian participation was represented by a pavilion in the exhibition, in which paintings and brochures were displayed that simulate historical, cultural, civilizational, urban, originality, history and Syrian heritage, where the Syrian pavilion received a remarkable turnout from visitors to the exhibition and participants in the festival.
During his visit to the Syrian pavilion with a number of Iranian officials, the Syrian ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Diop, stressed that the Syrian participation in this distinguished event is natural, given the strategic relations between the two friendly countries, Syria and Iran, pointing out that the festival and exhibition provide an important opportunity for communication and cooperation between the capitals and cities of the world and help In exchanging experiences, experiences and ideas that contribute to building smart cities and alleviating the problems and challenges facing contemporary cities.
Diop stressed the importance of cooperation between Damascus, Tehran and other cities in the two friendly countries in all fields, including traffic, transportation, combating air pollution, environmental issues, waste recycling, investment, construction, tourism, renewable energies and others.
The speeches of the audience focused on the importance of cooperation between the capitals of other countries and cities in environmental and urban issues, investment, construction, tourism, pollution control, transportation, and the well-being and social services of citizens.
The opening ceremonies of the festival and exhibition in KFTCO “Al-Hiwar” Park in the capital, Tehran, were attended by the Mayor of the Iranian capital, Ali Reza Zakani, the Iranian Minister of Interior, a large number of Iranian officials, deputies of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and a number of ambassadors accredited to Tehran.
