The expenses for the eight to ten performances are to be covered by admissions, sponsorship and subsidies.

There should be room for 900 people in the grandstands.

Dorfen

– The open-air theater “Faust in Dorfen” is set to be the program highlight of the 2023 anniversary summer.

The city has now announced in a press release that the total production costs are estimated at 269,000 euros.

The costs are therefore compared with income of 268,400 euros.

These are to be generated through ticket sales, sponsorship and funding.

The normal price of the tickets is planned at 35 euros, reduced 18 euros.

The main and finance committee unanimously decided to hold the "Faust in Dorfen" as the central event in the anniversary year (we reported).

The calculation was presented in the non-public meeting.

The planning for the anniversary year is in full swing, the project manager is Sigrid Wiedenhofer.

The city hired the Dorfen musician Ernst Bartmann and theater director Andreas Wiedermann as the production team for the Faust production.

They have already delighted the Dorfen audience several times with their productions of operettas and musicals in the Jakobmayer Hall as part of the Opera Incognita event series

The premiere of Faust is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Eight to ten performances in front of an audience of 900 spectators each are planned on the open-air stage on the Unterer Marktplatz until July 16, 2023.

"Goethe's masterpiece for the 1250th anniversary of the founding of the town of Dorfen should be a great scenic spectacle that combines knowledge gain, but also theatrical opulence, mummery, puppetry, dance and music theater elements," writes city spokeswoman Gudrun Gersbach.

A large contingent of interested local contributors as well as professional actors should shape it.

As a large-scale theatrical odyssey, a "Faust for everyone" is shown, which, despite all the depth of focus, is designed for a broad audience and, through the use of contemporary theatrical means, brings together literature and show, tragedy and comedy, acting and music theater into a magical setting of illusions.
