If its authorities remain discreet on the number of members up to date with contributions, the historic rout during the presidential election and then the internal disagreements on the strategy adopted for the legislative elections suggest a further drop in membership.

The re-election of Olivier Faure at the head of the party last September then, the following month, the internal primary investing Anne Hidalgo in the race for the Élysée had each gathered nearly 22,000 voters, for nearly 50,000 militants claimed to that time.

We are far from the 120,000 members claimed by the Socialists only five years ago.

At the start of the week, each member received their personal link by email, which allows them to sponsor new members and thus earn points.

An initiative reminiscent of that undertaken by walkers during the presidential campaign to fill Emmanuel Macron's meeting in early April at the Defense Arena in Paris.

The winners had been able to share "a privileged and unique moment" after the meeting with the candidate.

The PS also promises to reward the best touts.

But there's no indication if the top prize will be a one-on-one with the party leader...
