A BMW driver from Augsburg got into trouble on the A8 near Weyarn on Tuesday when the trailer truck next to her suddenly pulled into her lane.
The police are looking for witnesses.
Weyarn
- As reported by the Holzkirchen motorway police, an accident occurred on Tuesday morning on the motorway between Irschenberg and Weyarn.
At around 9.35 a.m., a 31-year-old from the Augsburg area drove a BMW on the A8 in the direction of Munich.
Between the Irschenberg and Weyarn junctions, she wanted to overtake an articulated lorry traveling in the right lane in the middle of the three lanes.
When she was level with the cab, she noticed the semi-trailer wink and pull into the middle lane.
According to the police report, the driver of the car slowed down to avoid a collision and had to move into the left lane.
At that time, however, a 19-year-old from the Miesbach district was driving her Renault Clio, which the BMW touched.
This resulted in total damage of around 15,000 euros to the two vehicles.
Luckily, no one got hurt.
Both drivers drove onto the hard shoulder after the collision, but the truck driver continued his journey.
The motorway police station is therefore asking witnesses who observed the incident - in particular a truck driver who drove behind the woman from Augsburg and was able to observe the course of events more closely - to contact the motorway police on 08024/90730.
