In a Facebook post, Fridge announced that he intends to "take a time-out from the Knesset, not from public life."
He pledged, "In the coming months I will mobilize with all my might for the victory in the elections. I will work among Arab society to convince the importance of the vote, without it being possible to attribute to me one personal interest or another."
He summed up his path in the Knesset and the government and said he was "proud of my membership in the government, a real change government, a government that instilled hope in large publics, a government that has done a great deal and that we must ensure it can continue to do so in the future."

He promised "to continue to work to strengthen and support a voice that is important to continue to be heard loudly, as part of a large Social Democratic Party," and called for the unification of the Meretz and Labor parties.
"The vision of establishing a significant left-wing party should be done quickly, not as a constraint as it was in the past, but out of a genuine desire to form a large and influential left-wing party."
Farage noted that in his decision, he updated Prime Minister Yair Lapid, whom he defined as "a leader, friend and partner in the path that I am committed to doing all I can in order for him to continue to lead the State of Israel."
At the same time, Deputy Economy Minister MK Yair Golan is expected to announce his candidacy for Meretz tomorrow. Golan convened a press conference tomorrow morning in Tel Aviv during which he is due to announce his decision to run against incumbent Meretz chairman Nitzan Horowitz.
Golan, a former deputy chief of staff and Maj. Gen., joined Meretz in 2019 with the party of Ehud Barak, a democratic Israel, and ran for it in the 22nd, 23rd and 24th Knesset elections in a place reserved for him in agreements. Now he intends to run for the first time. In the party.
