The head of the Civil Military Administration of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Palitsky announced that the Russian-controlled Zaporozhye nuclear plant will be ready to transfer 25 percent of the energy it produces to Crimea, which will lead to a decrease in the price of electric power on the peninsula.

Russia Today website quoted Palitsky as saying today that, according to preliminary estimates, we are preparing to transfer about 25 percent of the energy produced by the plant to Crimea, but the resumption of the construction of towers for power lines near the Chungar Peninsula in the southeast of the Kherson region, which was bombed in 2015, is slowly taking place. .

Balitsky explained that it is important for the Zaporozhye plant to organize the supply of electric power to Crimea due to the increased supply of productive capacities in the liberated lands from the region, pointing out that in addition to the nuclear plant, more than 100 small stations operate in the region.

It is noteworthy that the Kyiv government attempted to impose an electric blockade on Crimea after the referendum in 2014 and the ultra-nationalists of Ukraine blew up power lines the following year to prevent electricity from reaching it.
