The Duchess of Cambridge, a great fan of photography, has photographed her mother-in-law, the wife of Charles of England, for the cover of the British publication 'Country Life'

About to turn 75, Camilla from Cornwall has become the protagonist of the British magazine

Country Life

, dedicated to country life.

The wife of the heir to the British throne has become the editor of the July issue of the publication, whose cover she also stars in.

As manager of the issue, the Duchess has been able to decide who would portray her for that cover, and her choice has been clear: her daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, would be her photographer.

Camila appears on the cover of the issue (which announces her role as guest editor in large gold letters) smiling at the camera, sitting on a wooden bench, with a basket of flowers.

Dressed simply, in a dress with blue flowers and a cardigan of the same tone, the wife of Charles of England barely wears jewelry, but the activity bracelet to count steps and pulses (also in the same blue color) that she wears is striking in his left hand.

In another of the photos of the report she is seen in a dark blue dress, with what looks like a wooden cabin in the background.

The publication thus seeks to celebrate its 125 years, but also the arrival of the wife of Charles of England at the age of 75, a task in which the heir has preceded him.

As they themselves explain, the eldest son of Elizabeth II has edited the magazine twice: in November 2013, when he turned 65;

and in the same month of 2018, when he reached 70. That issue from almost four years ago became the best-selling magazine in its entire history.

In addition, in July 2020 Princess Anne, the second daughter of Elizabeth II, also published an issue for her 70th birthday, which became another bestseller.

As some palace sources have explained to the

Daily Mail

newspaper , when Camila received the offer from

Country Life

, she immediately thought of Kate Middleton to portray her for the cover.

Apparently, her daughter-in-law — hers is the wife of William of England, the eldest son of her husband — she was “delighted” with her proposal and she immediately accepted.

Camila's portrait has been taken in the town of Lacock, in the English county of Wiltshire, a town that belongs mostly to the National Trust, the national foundation for preserving places of historical interest.

There the Duchess of Cornwall has a house that she bought in the mid-nineties of the last century, after divorcing Andrew Parker Bowles.

A residence that is located just 25 kilometers from Highgrove House, the favorite farm and ranch of her husband, Charles of England.

The magazine will hit newsstands on July 13, and it "will reflect the Duchess's love for horses and dogs," according to the publication, which explains that she has rescued two dogs of the Jack Russell terrier breed,

Bluebell

and

Beth

, and is a patron of a cat and dog shelter.

In addition, the magazine says that on her pages the Duchess explains what "her favorite views of her and her favorite recipe" are.

Its director, Mark Hedges, affirms that it has been "a great honor" that he agreed to edit the number.

"Her Royal Highness of her is a passionate country woman and we are delighted that she is following in the footsteps of her husband by presiding over this commemorative edition."

Kate Middleton's participation in the

Country Life

issue marks her first cover as a portraitist (not as a portraitist, since five years ago she appeared in the British edition of

Vogue

).

The Duchess of Cambridge is a great fan of photography.

It is she who usually portrays her three children —Jorge, Carlota and Luis— for her birthday.

In mid-2019, Queen Elizabeth II named her patron of the United Kingdom's Royal Society of Photography, founded in 1853. And, in January 2020, she published two family portraits of Holocaust survivors with their grandchildren on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, images that were part of a photographic exhibition sponsored by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust Association, which supports victims of the Holocaust in the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Photography of the United Kingdom.

Then Middleton said that it had been "a real honor" to participate in such a project.
