The branch of the Cooperative Agricultural Bank in the city of Salhab in the countryside of Hama governorate continues to exchange the values of the marketed wheat crop to the branches of the two Syrian institutions for grain and seed multiplication in the governorate.
The director of the Agricultural Bank branch, Engineer Sherine Al-Daher, told SANA reporter that the total value of wheat bills that the bank branch has paid since the start of marketing operations during the month of June and so far amounted to 7.5 billion pounds, which included the disbursement of 7 billion pounds for the value of marketed wheat for the branch of the Grain Corporation, and 500 million pounds for the value of marketed wheat. For the branch of the Foundation for the Propagation of Seeds, explaining that the exchange operations are continuing, as the bank has invoices worth 14 billion pounds, for which payment orders are organized.
Al-Daher indicated that there was no delay in the exchange operations in light of the availability of the necessary credit and the regularity of disbursing the invoice values, indicating that the bank branch had deducted the debts owed by farmers to the bank, as the total collections achieved to date amounted to one billion and 280 million pounds, which was made through the collection of short debts. The term granted by the bank to farmers to secure agricultural production requirements for the current season.
