Expenditure by the Israeli public on credit cards continues to grow: In June, a new daily expenditure on credit cards was recorded - NIS 1.225 billion, an increase of 1.7% compared to the previous record in November 2021. Expenditure in June was NIS 36.75 billion - a jump of 5.8% compared to May.
All this against the background of the fear of a recession in the economy following the significant increase in the rate of inflation.
The previous daily expenditure record recorded in November 2021 was NIS 1.205 billion.
In May 2022, the daily expenditure was NIS 1.195 billion, and in June it was 2.5% higher.
During June, credit card transactions totaling more than NIS 36 billion were recorded in ISA systems, an increase of 5.8% compared to June 2021, when the total expenditure was NIS 34.742 billion.
Sheba's vice president, Ronit Tischler, told Petty that "in June, there was an increase in physical purchases."
