The more time passes, the more unanimity cracks around the transformation of the Paris ring road into an urban boulevard.
On Tuesday, the debates at the Paris Council focused on this project.
They underlined the end of the membership, all tendencies combined, obtained in 2019 so that this 35-kilometer ring road is no longer a "highway".
However, in three years, the ambitions announced with a view to reducing air pollution and noise around this traffic ring have considerably melted away.
Indeed, there is no longer any question, as was presented in 2019, of lowering the speed to 50 km/h instead of the current 70 km/h, nor even of installing traffic lights to make pedestrians cross.
The socialist mayor, Anne Hidalgo, has, in fact, limited the project to two changes.
One lane will be withdrawn from traffic and will be reserved for carpooling, buses and taxis from 2024. In addition, the lanes, which sometimes number three or four in each direction…
