Daraa-Sana
The Directorate of Agriculture in Daraa estimated the governorate’s farmers’ production of peach at 924 tons and peaches at 80 tons for the current season.
The head of the plant production department in the directorate, Eng. Wael Al-Ahmad, told SANA reporter today that the area planted with peaches is 220 hectares, with 92,000 trees, while the area planted with peach is 20 hectares, with 8,000 trees, all of which are in the fruiting stage.
He added that the cultivation of peaches and peaches spreads in most areas of the governorate, especially the western and northern regions, where the two crops are economically feasible and profitable for farmers.
