Fatal jet ski accident on the Elbe: acquittal

In the trial of a fatal jet ski accident on the Elbe near Kollmar (Schleswig-Holstein), the Itzehoe district court acquitted a 46-year-old defendant of the charge of negligent homicide.
The course of the accident cannot be clearly clarified, the court found on Tuesday following an expert opinion on the course of the accident, which the defense had requested.
Itzehoe - The verdict was actually only planned for Wednesday, but was brought forward after the report.
The public prosecutor had initially assumed that the 46 -year -old defendant had drunk on the night of August 2, 2020 and crashed into a jet ski against the leading embankment on a jet ski on the night.
The 33-year-old was found lifeless in the water by rescue workers and died in hospital despite resuscitation.
