Five people imprisoned and nearly 3 million euros seized after the dismantling of a vast network of pimping

Two entrepreneurs of Indian origin, each in their thirties, are suspected, among other things, of being the instigators of a hidden reservation system allowing prostitutes to rent rooms in their hotels.

"We don't see that every day, it's a first!"

, immediately loose the divisional commander Philippe Déjean, 40 years of profession.

And for good reason, the Interministerial Research Group (GIR) of which he is the head at the territorial direction of the PJ of Orléans, is at the origin of the dismantling, in the course of last week, of a sprawling network pimping in several major cities in France.

It all started in February, after the detection by the investigators of an abnormal resurgence of advertisements for prostitutes on a specialized website.

An investigation is quickly opened and important investigations are carried out by the GIR of Orleans supported by its counterpart of Rouen and the border police of Le Havre.

Telephone tapping and physical surveillance of two young associates of Indian origin, owners of a dozen hotels in Orléans, Rouen, Dieppe and even Mâcon are carried out in particular.

The two men, each in their thirties and business school graduates, are suspected of being the instigators of a hidden reservation system allowing prostitutes to rent rooms in these hotels and perform their passes.

Of Moldovan, Romanian but also French or South American nationality, these women - all adults - rented these rooms at higher prices than other customers.

It was more comfortable for them and probably a little more reassuring,

explains Commander Déjean.

They were still very independent, speaking rather good French and circulating from one hotel to another with their personal vehicle.

Fake construction companies and unaccompanied minors

In addition, the two contractors had instructed the receptionists - all of whom are in an irregular situation - to collect the money from the passes and then deposit them in a safe, which they came to empty once a month.

A perfectly oiled and above all very profitable business which would have brought them several million euros.

During the searches carried out as part of the GIR investigation, 373,000 euros in cash were seized as well as 2.4 million euros in bank accounts.

Not to mention the 12 leased vehicles, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7 and Q8 that the two main respondents had made available to their relatives.

Five hotels, a restaurant and a house whose cumulative value is around 7 million euros will also be seized soon.

In addition to the charges of aggravated pimping which weigh on them, the two men are being prosecuted for “fraud in an organized gang”.

They would have created fake construction companies to renovate at low cost - in other words by employing undocumented workers - decrepit hotels which they then resold for around a million euros.

After which they immediately closed their front companies.

Yet another scam, in the establishments where the prostitutes worked, the defendants had become accustomed to hosting unaccompanied minors (MNA).

“He made the Departmental Council pay for one room per miner while they piled them up to two or three minimums

,” continues Major Déjean.

In total, fourteen people were arrested last week during a major dragnet.

Eight were presented to a judge and five were indicted for "aggravated pimping", "concealed work", "aggravated money laundering", "organized gang fraud", "misuse of corporate assets" and "assistance with entry and stay of foreigners in France”.

While three others were placed under judicial control.
