Penzberg – AC Penzberg is 125 years old.
There will be celebrations from July 8th to 10th - with a wrestling tournament, 90s party, white sausage breakfast and club Olympics.
Peter Böck was the forefather of AC Penzberg.
In the inn "Zur Lüftn" on April 16, 1896, Böck was primarily responsible for founding the association.
"Because of a lack of financial means, club life was very difficult at the beginning," reported Ringer board member Bernd Dürr.
However, the first successes on the mat and the first district championship in Penzberg served as a springboard for the club.
The First World War ruined the club's efforts.
You had to start all over again.
The AC got new growth even in this difficult phase.
Boxers and weightlifters joined the club.
In 1925, a gym was built together with those responsible for TSV Penzberg.
The highlight of the club's history at the time: The South Bavarian Championships in wrestling and weightlifting were held in Penzberg in 1936.
Although you could establish yourself in the German wrestling circles, the weightlifters and boxers said goodbye to the club.

"The first team of AC Penzberg, on the other hand, went on from victory to victory and was able to fight for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, starting with the Landesliga, Bayernliga, Oberliga, and even at the end of the 1980s," says Dürr.
Over the years, women's gymnastics and Bambini training followed - in 2010 a support association was founded.
