The reasons for this dropout are multiple;

on the one hand, they must be sought in the pedagogical errors of National Education, long magnetized by current events to the detriment of major texts.

Another observation: for half a century, oral language has triumphed, notably promoted by audiovisual, political and institutional communication, with its tics and other “elements of language” made up of neologisms, euphemisms, Anglicisms.

And what about the contemporary fascination for jargons, those of the digital world as well as those of the cities.
