Penzberg – Two athletes from TSV Penzberg achieved good results at the German Athletics Championships in Berlin.
Andreas Kölbl (27) from Sindelsdorf was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles and Nick Jäger (22) from Penzberg was eighth in the 3000-meter obstacle.
It was the best result in the history of TSV Penzberg at the German Athletics Championships: Andreas Kölbl took fourth place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52.22 seconds.
"If someone had offered me fourth place before the championships, I would have accepted it immediately," said the man from Sindelsdorf, "but now, after just missing out on a medal, I'm a bit disappointed.
Because today's final was perhaps a unique opportunity.” In the end, the 27-year-old was 0.36 seconds behind Lennart Roos (LG Rhein-Wied), who won the bronze medal.

"I didn't find my rhythm today, especially when crossing the obstacles, and that's why I always lost a little time," admitted Nick Jäger after the race.
The Penzberger was eighth in the final over 3000 meters obstacle.
With a time of 8:51.52 minutes, the 22-year-old was well ahead of his best time.
"But this was mainly due to the course of the race," reported TSV coach Markus Brennauer.

Jäger was able to keep up until the final sprint, but in the last lap the competition picked up the pace again.
"The final sprint is not Nick's strong suit," says trainer and mother Melanie Jäger, who was satisfied with the race.
