Guests at the Dan Eilat Hotel complained that they felt unwell after eating in the hotel's dining room, and required medical attention.
The hotel confirms that complaints have indeed been received from several guests staying in the hotel rooms, and that a report has been submitted to the Ministry of Health and food samples have been taken.
Two vacationers at the hotel arrived at Yoseftal Hospital in the city, and reported feeling unwell after eating in the hotel dining room. The hospital said there was no indication of food poisoning.
The Dan Eilat Hotel stated: "We are very sorry that some of the hotel's guests needed treatment. According to the information we have, there are 15 guests. The hotel management works closely with representatives of the Ministry of Health. "Full occupancy, and complaints have been received from several rooms. We wish health to all."
The investigation is ongoing
The Ministry of Health responded: "The ministry has so far reported 15 cases of intestinal disease (vomiting and abdominal pain) in guests at the Dan Eilat Hotel. In none of the cases was the patient hospitalized. "For testing in the laboratory and an epidemiological investigation has been opened. The Ministry of Health has instructed at this stage to continue monitoring and reporting suspicious cases. We will continue to guide the hotel in accordance with the findings of the investigation, which is still ongoing, and update the public if necessary."
