He abused a 10-year-old girl
in the municipal library
of a town in the Sassari hinterland.
A 35-year-old man was sentenced this morning by the Court of Sassari to two years in prison, to be served in probation, and to
perpetual interdiction
from any position in schools of all levels and in public and private institutions or structures attended. mainly by minors.
The panel of judges, chaired by Mauro Pusceddu, also imposed on the 35-year-old, defended by the lawyers Natalino Zarelli and Dario Masala, the prohibition, for 2 years, from approaching places usually frequented by minors, from carrying out work that involves habitual contact with minors, and the obligation to inform the police bodies of their residence and any movements.
The violence took place two years ago in the premises of the municipal library, where the man, who was recognized by the court as being
mentally ill
, approached the girl.
Another user of the library had noticed what was happening and had immediately notified the staff that had intervened by blocking the 35-year-old and removing all the minors who were at that time in the structure.
The police report and investigation was then initiated, coordinated by the prosecutor Giovanni Porcheddu, up to the trial concluded today with the conviction of the accused, who will also have to undergo a therapeutic program in a specialized treatment center.
The 35-year-old will also have to pay the legal costs and a provisional fee of 1,500 euros to the family of the victim, who has become a civil party with the lawyer Graziella Meloni.
