Bad Tölz - What initially looked like something bigger luckily turned out to be a kitchen fire.
Most of the fire brigade in Markstraße was able to withdraw on Tuesday afternoon (July 5th).
In the end it was the gas stove in the kitchen.
This must have had a "leak from which gas could escape uncontrollably", as Thomas Fuchsgruber, commander of the Tölz fire brigade, explained on site.
The stove must have been hot and therefore ignited immediately.
"Actually good, the gas burned up immediately," said the commander.
Otherwise you would have had the gas somewhere, which “would have been even worse”.
"The chef himself threw a fire blanket over the fire," said Fuchsgruber.
He reacted well and correctly in the situation.
Then the cook and probably three other people who were in the kitchen left the building.
The four people were then examined by paramedics.
"So far they haven't had any complaints," the commander explained.
In the end, for the fire brigade, it was just checking the kitchen and "perhaps minor extinguishing work, but nothing major," says Fuchsgruber.
In addition to the Tölz fire brigade, the fire departments from Gaißach, Lenggries and the district fire inspection were also on site.
