The Legislative Council Election Committee member Chen Kaixin jumped into politics from the media and served as the political assistant of the Food and Health Bureau.
She hoped that the council could catch up with the laggards, and hoped that the people's clothing, food, housing and transportation, and people's livelihood affairs would have a better development.
Chen Kaixin, who originally worked in the media, met Dr. Ko Wing-man in 2012. He became the Secretary for Food and Health and invited her to serve as a political assistant, so she joined the government accountability team.
In the 2018 Legislative Council by-election, Chen Kaixin said in an interview with the "Hong Kong Restart Alliance" that many people came to her at that time, hoping to help lobby Gao Yongwen to run for election, but Gao Yongwen suggested that she consider running for election.
As a result, Chen Kaixin won the Kowloon West by-election, but was ruled to be improperly elected in 2020 and lost his membership.
This year's Legislative Council election, Chen Kaixin was re-elected and returned to Parliament.
Having experienced different identities, Chen Kaixin pointed out that as a reporter, he kept asking why, but after becoming a political assistant, he found that the government needs to think about many aspects when launching or explaining policies.
As for entering the decision-making core of the Legislative Council, she said she knew what procedures could be shortened so that some projects could be launched more quickly.
Chen Kaixin is a mother, and she goes to the Kowloon City market every day to buy vegetables, so as to hear the most relevant issues of people's livelihood.
Kowloon City will be rebuilt and the market will be moved into the new complex with seamless transition.
She pointed out that how to preserve these cultural characteristics will be an issue that she will pay close attention to during this term of the Legislative Council.
