Lattakia City Council started road maintenance work in a number of locations as part of its work program to benefit from the amount allocated by the government to the city council during the ministerial delegation's visit to the governorate and to inform it of the damages caused by the storm.
The head of the city council, Eng. Hussein Zingerli, indicated that the council, in cooperation with the public sector companies, started maintenance work on a number of roads as part of its work program to invest the sum allocated to the council, amounting to 500 million Syrian pounds, in service works.
The Chairman of the Council pointed out that work currently includes the Blue Beach Roundabout towards the road leading to the Lamira Hotel and the adjacent residential area on both sides, with other streets that will be worked on later.
For his part, Eng. Saeed Droubi from the branch of the General Company for Roads and Bridges stated that the branch’s machinery and workshops are currently carrying out skimming works and laying a layer of paved asphalt within the technical specifications required to rehabilitate the roads with maintenance of the curbstone from the Sports City roundabout towards the residential areas opposite the Lamira Hotel.
