In a post he posted on his Facebook page, he wrote: "I will work among Arab society to convince the importance of the vote, without being able to attribute this or that personal interest to me" • MK Musi Raz: "His decision to leave politics is a blow to Meretz and Israeli politics"

In a post he wrote on his Facebook page, on the same day that MK Yuval Steinitz of the Likud announced his retirement, Fridge wrote that he had also decided to retire from political life. He also wrote that he would continue his activities to bring Jews and Arabs closer together.

Fridge announced his decision in a post on his Facebook page, in which he wrote: "With all my heart, after thinking and consulting with my family and travel partners, I decided to take a break from the Knesset, not from public life.

"In the coming months, I will mobilize with all my might for the victory in the elections. I will work among Arab society to convince the importance of the vote, without it being possible to attribute this or that personal interest to me.

"I am very proud of the way I did in the Knesset and the government. I worked as much as possible to promote partnership and strengthen relations between Jews and Arabs in Israel, and to establish relations between the State of Israel and its citizens." Ensure you can continue to do so in the future.

"As a Meretz member for over thirty years, Meretz is the voice I believe in. I will continue to work to strengthen and support a voice that is important to continue to be heard loudly, as part of a large Social Democratic Party.

"The vision of establishing a significant left-wing party based on the Labor and Meretz parties should be done quickly, not as a constraint as it was in the past, but with a genuine desire to form a large and influential left-wing party.

"In my decision, I updated Prime Minister Yair Lapid. A leader, friend and partner in the path that I am committed to doing everything I can to continue to lead the State of Israel."

MK Musi Raz (Meretz) commented on Frij's decision and said: "The decision of my friend and brother, Minister Issawi Frij, to leave politics, is a blow to Meretz, to Israeli politics, to all who believe in human rights and Jewish-Arab and civil and civil partnership. All of Israel.

Issawi, we will miss you very much. "

Earlier today (Tuesday), MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud) announced that he had also decided to retire from political life, after 23 years in the Knesset.

"I am proud of the achievements I have made in my various roles, in economics, statesmanship and security. Some of them have historical significance, such as: unveiling the Syrian nuclear program; inventing the first biennial budget of its kind in the world; Israel's entry into the OECD; And the outline of gas and the transformation of Israel into an energy power.
