2022-07-05T19:11:19.052Z

To better support people affected by this epidemic, the regional health agency will open nine centers throughout the Paris region.

312 cases on June 28 Ile-de-France.

336 two days later.

The contamination figures are certainly not as maddening as those linked to Covid, but the monkeypox epidemic has continued to progress since this spring.

And if there are many screening and vaccination centers to counter the Omicron virus, for monkey pox, the screening and care circuit is not always obvious.

Today, 7 screening centers are open in the AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris) network: in Bichat, Pitié-Salpétrière, Hôtel-Dieu, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Louis, Lariboisière and Tenon.

The regional health agency (ARS) has also decided to open 9 vaccination centers in Ile-de-France, the most affected region.

These are the Parisian hospitals which are also screening centers (except Tenon) and the Raymond-Poincaré (92), Avicenne (93) and Kremlin-Bicêtre (94) hospitals.

If most of them open this Wednesday, appointments at the Hôtel Dieu will only be possible from next Monday.

Mandatory appointments before going there.

“The vaccine should ideally be administered within four days after the date of the last risky contact and a maximum of 14 days later according to the schedule recommended by the high health authority”, indicates the ARS.

“The ideal would be to do like England for example, which opens vaccination to the entire homosexual community, which is the most affected”, observes Anne Souyris, the assistant (EELV) in charge of health at the town hall of Paris. .

It's not yet the case.

But the high health authority was seized at the end of last week to give an opinion on such an enlargement.

Its opinion should be given within a few days.

Be careful, the disease is not always easy to identify.

Symptoms appear after an incubation period of 5 to 21 days.

The first of the symptoms is often a high fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, unusual fatigue.

In short, the perfect cocktail to make believe that the Covid has caught up with you.

The only truly distinctive sign: the appearance of lymph nodes and pimples.

“If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact the Sida info service or the HIV testing centres, they identify smallpox fairly quickly and this will save you from false diagnoses which will cause you to lose 15 days”, advises Anne Souyris. .

If you have been infected, a three-week isolation at home is recommended.

It can be lifted, after medical advice, after 14 days in case of recovery.
