Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawda resumed his open hunger strike in protest against the Israeli occupation authorities' reversal of the decision to release him.
The spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority, Hassan Abed Rabbo, told WAFA that the occupation authorities had pledged to release him on the twenty-sixth of last June, but they failed to do so and extended his detention for four months, which made him resume his strike since last Saturday.
Abed Rabbo warned that resuming his strike again poses a greater danger to his health than the continuous strike period he has been through.
The prisoner, Awawda (40 years), suspended his hunger strike, which lasted for 111 days, on the twenty-first of last month, after the occupation authorities pledged to release him.
In a related context, the prisoner, Raed Rayan, continues his strike for the 90th day, amid a severe deterioration in his health.
