Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, reiterated that the Russian army is present in Syria at the legitimate invitation of the Syrian government, unlike the illegally present US occupation forces.
"The Russian military is present in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian leadership, in strict accordance with international law, while the Americans do not have such an invitation, and it is very important to understand this fundamental difference," Peskov was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying in a press statement today.
On the tension between the Russian and US armies in Syria, Peskov indicated that "it is appropriate to learn this from the military experts of the Russian Defense Ministry."
It is noteworthy that the American occupation forces present in parts of the Syrian territories continue to steal Syrian oil and resources.
On the other hand, commenting on Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO, Peskov affirmed his country's determination to work to ensure its security.
"The Russian Defense Ministry has plans for measures and measures for the security of the country, and these options are not being discussed in the Kremlin, but in the ministry," Peskov said, adding that "we have plans in this regard and work is underway to ensure our security."
Earlier today, the foreign ministers of Finland and Sweden signed the protocols for joining NATO.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed earlier that NATO is an instrument of US policy and that Russia will respond if the alliance deploys its forces in Sweden and Finland.
