Holidaymakers must also expect higher prices abroad this summer.
An overview.
Munich – The 2022 summer holiday is making conditions more difficult in several respects: on the one hand, the corona numbers are currently rising again in many popular holiday destinations, on the other hand, many things are currently becoming more expensive, including abroad.
Vacationers should therefore be prepared for rising prices during their vacation.
Prices in holiday countries are rising: refueling, staying overnight and eating in Italy
As foreign reporters from ARD report on
tagesschau.de
, prices are also rising in the popular holiday destination of Italy, for example.
There, fueling in particular is currently more expensive again, despite previous tax cuts by the state.
A liter of fuel is said to cost around two euros in Italy, with price fluctuations of up to 20 or 30 cents plus being possible.
However, not only filling up, but also many other areas that affect holidaymakers are affected by rising prices.
According to the consumer association Codacons, there is a price increase of almost fifteen percent for hotels.
Vacationers should also be prepared for significantly higher prices for transport and restaurant visits.
And if you want to reserve a lounger on the beach, you also have to dig deep into your pocket, according to
tagesschau.de
: around 30 euros for a day should be charged at weekends.
In Italy there are many stalls and cafes that offer ice cream - but at a higher price than before (icon image).

Inflation in popular holiday destinations: Spain and Portugal
Price increases in particular are to be expected when vacationing in Spain or Portugal.
The inflation of around eight percent is felt in both countries, especially in the supermarkets, but also when eating out.
In Spain in particular, tourism is currently increasing extremely, which, in addition to inflation, is causing prices in the country to skyrocket.
The more touristy the area, the more extra costs can be incurred, for example in gastronomy.
With regard to hotels and the like, prices have risen by 15 percent, just like in Italy.
Tourists should keep an eye on upcoming festivities or important dates in Spain or Portugal when planning their vacation.
Because according to the foreign reporter Reinhard Spiegelhauer, overnight stays in July are up to five times more expensive than usual because of the bull running in Pamplona. Those who want to travel but don't want to spend so much money have the chance of a cheaper holiday in other countries.
Fuel currently costs around 2.20 euros in both Spain and Portugal.
In Spain, however, locals and tourists benefit from a discount.
For example, 20 cents per liter are deducted from the bill when filling up.
In Portugal there is also a regulation, but this only brings an advantage for locals and not for tourists.

Summer vacation 2022 in Europe: Vacations in Croatia are also becoming more expensive
Those who hoped that the popular holiday destination Croatia would be spared the extreme price increases will unfortunately be disappointed here too.
For example, a family of four on the Adriatic coast has to reckon with the equivalent of around 100 euros for lunch - depending on the tourist region, even more.
However, there is one positive aspect in Croatia: Because of the government, fuel prices at gas stations that are not on the motorway are 1.70 for a liter of diesel and 1.80 for a liter of petrol.
If you want to spend your holiday abroad, you should also keep an eye on the current Corona regulations in the holiday countries.
