The opera in paperback format was a guest in Indersdorf for the eighth time.

This year "The Marriage of Figaro" was shown.

The spectators loved it.

Indersdorf – For the eighth time, the adult education center Kulturkreis Indersdorf, with the support of the Sparkasse Dachau, has presented “Music on wheels – the opera in paperback format”.

The whole Vhs team was very happy last Saturday to be able to offer another cultural highlight.

Willi Mühlholzl, Vice Chairman of the Vhs, recalled that Don Giovanni, Carmen, the Barber of Seville, The Kidnapping from the Seraglio, Don Pasquale, La Boheme and The Magic Flute had already been on the program in previous years.

With the words "We are very happy to be back in Markt Indersdorf" Johannes Erkes greeted his audience in the auditorium of the middle school in Indersdorf.

This year "The Marriage of Figaro" was on the program.

The weather was rain-free in the evening, but it was too cold to place the event outside and "for the next six hours", as Erkes jokingly put it, "to listen to Figaro without a break".

He has an image of "Venetian summer nights with Aperol Sprizz or Hugo" in mind when he thinks back to Markt Indersdorf and the previous opera performances and less to school ambience.

Ultimately, however, Erkes transformed the auditorium into a small, top-class concert hall with five vocal soloists, a string quartet and an accordion.

"Le Nozze de Figaro" is one of the five most performed operas and Erkes asked the audience: "Please name the four others!" The audience was well informed and the missing operas were identified very quickly: La Boheme, La Traviata, the Magic Flute and Carmen.

Of all these plays, "Le Nozze de Fiagro is the only funny one," explained Erkes - for him a "comedic speed in four acts".

In his special and very humorous way, he explained the individual scenes and gave tips on which information you absolutely have to keep in mind in order to understand the complicated plot.

At the end, the spectators were enthusiastic and great applause confirmed to the ensemble what a great evening it was again and how much their music, the soloists and Johannes Erkes were enjoyed.
