Al-Saleh confirmed to SANA Youth that the research took about a year of work and diligence, as it is the first research conducted in the laboratories of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the university and in the region in general on asphalt mixtures and how to improve their properties. The American magazine “Civil Engineering and Archeology” in California, which was highly accepted and admired by them and was classified as the finest research that supports the scientific research process in the field of civil engineering in the transportation sector.

He said, "The research aims to design asphalt mixtures that are characterized by stability, durability and permanence in the investment reality, as the modified mixtures resist the defects and distortions that occur on the flexible pavement, which reduces and limits the costs of recurring periodic maintenance and achieves sustainability in construction operations for road and transportation projects in general," adding that the research achieves The direct link between the academic research reality and the investment reality in the reconstruction and construction stage, given that the implemented methods using modified asphalt mixtures are resistant to all cracks and deformations.

Al-Saleh pointed to the role of Syrian researchers in finding solutions to problems in various fields and the possibility of carrying out research that raises the name of Syrian universities and increases their global ranking.
