The DWD warns of "strong thunderstorms" in southern Bavaria on Monday evening.
In the next few days it will be partly thundery, partly sunny.
Munich – Lightning, thunder and heavy rain are currently shaping the weather in Munich.
The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an official warning of "strong thunderstorms" for southern Bavaria.
It is valid until Monday evening, 11 p.m.
But the current forecasts for parts of Bavaria also look bleak on Tuesday.
Weather in Bavaria: DWD warns of heavy rain and hail
Thunderstorms are currently moving from the west across Bavaria.
Upper Bavaria and Lower Bavaria are particularly affected by the DWD warning.
"There are gusts of wind with speeds of around 70 km/h and heavy rain with precipitation between 20 l/m² and 35 l/m² in 6 hours and hail," writes the DWD.
Lightning strikes and falling branches could also occur locally.
Traffic delays are also possible for a short time during the downpour.
The rain and thunderstorms are expected to subside in the second half of the night.

On Tuesday (July 5th) the sun will appear again almost everywhere in Bavaria.
From the edge of the Alps to the Bavarian Forest, "single thunderstorms with heavy rain of around 15 l/sqm cannot be ruled out." In the north and north-west there may also be occasional rain.

On Wednesday, the weather should also remain friendly in the Free State.
However, the temperatures will probably drop by a few degrees.
"In the south, warming to 22 to 26 degrees, otherwise only 17 to 22 degrees," says the DWD forecast.
However, it is only supposed to rain occasionally.
