Landlord Anian Kurz draws an all-round positive balance after the Miesbacher Volksfest 2022. His conclusion: "A lot going on, but still pretty gritty."

Miesbach

– Four days brewery anniversary, four days break, then another ten days folk festival: A hot phase lies behind landlord Anian Kurz and his team.

And that doesn't just mean the warm temperatures in the tent thanks to the almost constant high summer weather.

The hospitality of up to 1300 guests (plus 400 outside in the beer garden) made the experienced restaurateur sweat.

After a compulsory Corona break of more than two years, Kurz does not want to complain about it – on the contrary.

The host enthuses that the two Miesbach festivals went "just right".

Well attended, but still "nicely gritty".

So the folk festival visitors would have been well distributed over the week.

It was traditionally the busiest on the children's and senior citizens' afternoon on Tuesday and on the company day on Friday.

And that despite the fact that, according to Kurz, some of the large corporations would have waived the traditional visit to the folk festival this year.

"A lot of smaller companies came for this," says the host happily.

Kurz reports that it was only relatively quiet on the first Sunday.

"It was just too hot there."

Rapid sales of beer and chicken brands

Meanwhile, the sale of beer and chicken brands went exceptionally well, which made it easier for the landlord to plan his purchases.

Kurz is convinced that the prices on the menus have continued to be family-friendly despite the general rise in prices.

"We were clearly the cheapest folk festival in the area." The guests honored this with a blessed appetite, so that in the end around 3000 whole chickens ended up on the grill.

For digestion, the visitors strolled through the car park, which Kurz also said was well frequented.

The only thing that still needs work is to coordinate the opening hours, the landlord admits.

On Sundays, for example, the tent opened at 11:30 a.m., while the carousels only opened at 1 p.m.

Kurz would also wish that more Miesbachers would go to their folk festival again in the future.

Landlord: A few more Miesbacher visitors would be nice

The Kurz's are happy to remain loyal to the district town despite many other inquiries from the area, which is now becoming ever larger.

"A matter of honour," says the landlord.

On Thursday, however, we'll continue to Hochstätt in the district of Rosenheim, where a good 4,500 guests are expected to attend the Gaufest.

The sought-after festival host can't afford to take a summer break at the moment.
