A 47-year-old Bnei Brak resident was stabbed this morning (Tuesday) in a pedestrian bridge on Geha Road, between Bnei Brak and Givat Shmuel, by an unknown person.
Police are investigating the suspicion that it was a terrorist attack and have launched searches to locate the attacker, but the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
The stabbed man is being treated at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer.
A week ago, a Palestinian, a resident of the Bethlehem area in his 20s, tried to stab police officers with a knife stationed at one of the gates of the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Unsuccessful in the act, he fled back to the Temple Mount compound.
Police and Border Police began searching for the suspect in order to locate him, and after about an hour of searching arrested him.
About two months ago, police arrested a 22-year-old Palestinian armed with an ax in the Samaria area, on suspicion of planning to carry out a stabbing attack.
The investigation of the case revealed that the suspect wandered around the area for about an hour and searched for Israelis standing alone to harm them.
A search of the Palestinian's vehicle turned up a suicide note, which stated that he was on his way to carry out a "revenge" attack.
