Robert "Bobby" Crimo III, a 21-year-old, is the suspect who opened fire on celebrants in a Chicago suburb on American Independence Day.
Crimo, who murdered six people and wounded nearly 40 others, is also known as a musician named "Awake the Rapper".
According to a report by NBC, the shooter posted a series of posts on social media that dealt with mass shootings, as well as some of his songs.
The latest video he uploaded to his YouTube account shows him at the end of a school shooting incident, wrapped in a United States flag.
After the shooting, his network account was blocked.
Apparently, he was also active in several groups and forums, which also dealt with graphic depictions of violent death.

According to the Wikipedia site, he started publishing songs in 2016.
The first song, "By the Pond", was a hit on YouTube and garnered about three million views.
Another song, "On My Mind" released in 2018, garnered four million views.
At one point, his Spotify account reached more than a hundred thousand listeners a month.
NBC also reported that Crimo's father owns a convenience store, and tried to run in 2019 for mayor of Highland Park, where the massacre took place.

Among the victims of the shooting yesterday were also Jews.
Jackie Sondheim, a member of the North Shore Congregation Israel Synagogue in Glencore, is one of six murdered in Highland Park, according to the synagogue.
"There are no words to describe the depth of our grief over Jackie's death," the synagogue said.
She worked at the conference house as an events coordinator and teacher.
The shooting occurred during a July 4 parade.
The gala procession began at 10 a.m., United States time, and shooting there reportedly began just 10 minutes later.
One eyewitness told local media that he noticed a shooter opening fire at the crowd from the roof of a store, and that he heard dozens of shots.
