The solo exhibition of the plastic artist Issam Youssef, which is held in the hall of the Al-Adiyat Association Hall, Safita Branch, entitled “Hymns” included 15 paintings he created in acrylic colors, through which he expressed his love for the city of Safita, its neighborhood, its houses, nature and its archaeological tower.

Choosing the title (Hymns), according to the artist Youssef, was an expression of his love and affection for the city of Safita.

He believed that the large sizes of the works helped to highlight the subject of the paintings and their details because they give greater artistic value, unlike the small paintings that have their own cases, pointing out that the reason for naming all the paintings Safita is due to the fact that it is preferable not to name the painting because the name frames it and the recipient cannot deviate from the limits of this title Especially that in plastic art, the painting is read through the same recipient, his culture and his thought, indicating that the richness of the painting is through the multiple readings of it regardless of the artist's idea.

A number of attendees expressed their admiration for the exhibition in terms of colors and creativity, highlighting the city of Safita with its various simple natural aesthetics.

It is noteworthy that Issam Youssef, 65, an architect from the city of Safita, participated in several solo and joint exhibitions inside and outside Syria, the last of which was a solo exhibition (Ya Sham) in Damascus in 2019.
